The district administration in Rajouri district has established two new COVID care centers, besides increasing the COVID-19 testing to 1000 tests per day.
The step was taken after the district witnessed a spike in number of cases witnessed in last five days1.
As per officials, from Wednesday to Saturday last week, over one 100 new cases were registered in Rajouri district with 36 from Draj village of Kotranka tehsil alone.
“One more COVID care center was established in Mother and Child Care Hospital located in Mandi area of Rajouri town for which an official notification was also issued by District Magistrate Rajouri and officers as nodal officers have also been deployed for the said new center.
“The new centre shall have a bed capacity of 130.” they said.
“Another woman dedicated COVID care center has been established at GMC Girls Hostel on Dhani Dhar road with capacity of 30 beds where only Women COVID patients have been kept.” said officials.
They further informed that after this spike in number of Corona cases, the testing rate has been doubled in Rajouri district.
“Earlier 500-600 tests were being done on daily basis. But now the testing rate is 1000 per day with main focus on red areas.” the officials said.
