2 soldiers injured in cross LoC firing, mine explosion in Nowshera sector

Two army personnel were injured in two separate incidents along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of this district on Tuesday.

A source said a soldier deployed on a forward location in Nowshera sector received injuries during the firing from across the LoC in Jhanger area in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

“The Injured was shifted to army hospital where he is undergoing treatment,” said the source.

Another solider deployed on the forward location in the area received injures in a low intensity explosion suspected to be the blast of anti-personal land mine.

“The injured was shifted to the army hospital,” said the source.

Meanwhile, both the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged gunfire on the LoC in Mendhar sector in the intervening night.
