27 injured in Rajouri road accident

At least twenty seven passengers sustained injuries when a Canter bus, moving from Kalakote to Tatta Pani village, met with an accident on Thursday.

As per reports, the bus, JK11 5544, skidded off the road and plunged into roadside field at Tatta Pani village at about 4:30 pm, after the driver lost control.

   

Twenty seven people received injuries in the accident. All of them were shifted to Kalakote sub-district hospital.

The injured have been identified as Chanchal Kumari, Sagar Sharma, Saleem Begum, Parwaiz Ahmed, Soma Devi, Inder Balla, Zamoorad Khan, Nazir Ahmed, Kamal Singh, Vipan Kumari, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Amisha Chib, Palak Thakur, Anita Devi, Palvi Thakur, Shahnaz Akhter, Sajjad Ahmed, Jyoti Sharma, Kamlesh Kumari, Mehreen Akhter, Abina Kouser, Jameela Akhter, Azia Aman, Uma Bharti, Maqdoom Akhter, Sanjay Kumar and Nazir Hussain.

Later, seven of the injured were referred to district hospital Rajouri, while three were referred to sub-district hospital Sunderbani for advanced treatment.

Police has taken cognizance of the incident, while the locals have appealed to the Governor administration to improve the road connectivity in the district as dilapidated roads are becoming the main cause of accidents.
