3 arrested, 26 bovines rescued: Police

Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested three men and rescued 26 bovines from their possession in Rajouri district on Saturday.

The police said, “A team, led by SDPO Thannamandi Iftikar A Chowdhary along with SHO Thannamandi Nazir Ahmad Dar, laid a check-post on Thannamandi road. At the check-post, the team intercepted a mini-truck, JK09-4372, driven by Mohammad Shabir, and rescued 14 bovine animals loaded in it.”

   

Similarly, another mini-truck, JK14C 1628, driven by one Mohammed Shabir was also intercepted at the check-post and during search, 10 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck, a police official said.

All the bovines were rescued and the drivers arrested.

“Meanwhile, another team from Nowshera police station arrested one Khurshid Ahmed and rescued 2 bovine animals from his possession,” a police official said. 

Police has taken cognizance and registered cases under relevant sections of law.
