Around 33 laborers were detained and sent to quarantine after they tried to sneak into Baderwah through snow filled Chattergalla and Padri pass from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The laborers were sent to quarantine centers at SDH Bhadarwah during wee hours on Tuesday.
Acting on a specific information of the locals about the presence of these laborers near Nalthi and Thanalla village on interstate Bhaderwah-Chamba and Bhaderwah-Basholi-Pathankot roads respectively, Bhadarwah Police and civil administration swung into action and detained both the groups.
“Although both the roads connecting Pathankot and Chamba are closed for traffic as Chattergalla on Bhadarwah-Pathankot and Padri on Bhadarwah-Chamba road are filled with snow but still 23 laborers tried to sneak into Bhadarwah via Bani and 10 from Chamba,” said ADC Bhadarwah, Rakesh Kumar.
He said all these labourers are being examined by the doctors at quarantine centre.
“People should not risk their lives to evade quarantine as both Chattergalla and Padri area are prone to snow avalanches,” he said.
