‘40 anganwari centres found locked, 55 officials absent during surprise inspection’

Implementation of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and supervision by supervisory staff of the department has yet again come under the scanner as during a surprise inspection on Monday, 40 Anganwari centres were found locked and 55 officials absent in Rajouri district.  

Earlier on May 17, 2017, a district level inspection ofAnganwari centres was conducted, during which 600 Anganwari centres were foundclosed, while 1400 Anganwari officials absent from duty in Rajouri district.

   

In the fresh inspection conducted by district administrationon Monday, an official spokesman said that as many as 508 centers wereinspected, out of which 40 were found closed at the time of inspection, whereas55 Anganwadi worker and helper were found absent from the duty, 85 were shownon record under- deployment and 35 centers were found with insufficient numberof enrolment as well as nutrition.

The spokesman said that 5 centres were found closed inKotranka tehsil, 7 in Manjakote, 1 in Siot, 4 in Kalakote, 2 in Nowshera, 9 inQila Darhal and 4 in Khawas tehsil.

Meanwhile, the district development commissioner Rajouri hassought list of the centres found locked as well as list of the absentees toinitiate necessary action under rules.
