6 injured in road accidents

Six people, including a 2-year-old boy, sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Rajouri and Poonch districts on Friday.

A police officer said, “A motorcycle collided with a car, JK08A 7008, at ChatyariChingus village on the Jammu-Poonch highway. As a result, four people, including a 2-year-old baby, who were travelling on the motorcycle, sustained injuries.”

   

The officer identified the injured as Sahil (21), son of Khem Raj, Khem Raj (50), son of Amar Nath, Rinka Devi (26), wife of Vipan Kumar, and AdarshSayal (2), son of Vipan Kumar, all residents of Nonial in Nowshera.

Meanwhile, a Tata Sumo, JK14A 0499, skidded off the road and plunged into a roadside gorge at Mendhar, another police officer said, adding that as a result, two persons, on board the vehicle, sustained injuries.

The injured, identified as Mohammad Rafiq and ShaziaKoser, both residents of Narole in Mendhar, were shifted to sub-district hospital, Mendhar. “The duo is under treatment and are out of danger,” the officer said.

Police have taken cognizance of both the incidents and are investigating them further.
