65011 households covered under SBM: Poonch Admin

As many as 65011 households, including 48903 approved in Baseline Survey, have been provided with individual latrine facilities under Swach Bharat Mission (SBM) with 93.88% overall coverage in the district, Poonch administration said on Wednesday. The District Development Commissioner was informed this in a meeting of concerned officer to review the progress under SBM.

It was informed that 4899 IHHL units in Balakote, 6172 in Bufliaz, 5751 in Lasssana, 3983 in Loran, 6522 in Mandi, 4145 in Mankote and 7621 IHHL units in Mendhar blocks have been constructed, whereas in Nangali Sahib Sain Baba, Poonch, Sathra and Surankote blocks 4512, 8130, 4713 and 8563 IHHL units have been constructed, respectively. 

   

It was further given out that of 189 Panchayats in the district, 114 Panchayats have achieved cent percent coverage. These included 7 in Balakote, 6 in Bufliaz, 9 in Lasana, 4 in Loran, 11 in Mandi, 10 in Mankote, 22 in Mendhar, 9 in NSSB, 8 in Poonch, 10 in Sathra and 18 in Surankote.

Furthermore, 93.88% updation of data, including uploading of photographs on Management Information System and 54.22% Geo-tagging has been completed.

The DDC impressed upon the concerned to cover remaining 1054 households as per baseline survey. He directed interdepartmental inspection teams, constituted by administration at Block levels, to expedite the process of physical verification of the IHHL units strictly as per laid down parameters of government so that the Panchayats can be declared ODF.

Taking serious note of slow progress in geo-tagging and updation of data of constructed IHHLs on MIS, the DDC asked for expediting exercise as its prerequisite for generation of liability and thereby, payments to the beneficiaries. 

Among others ADDC Abdul Hamid, ACD Mukhtaar Ahmad, DPO Mazahir Hussain Shah, BDOs Ashiq Hussain, Qadeer Ahmad, Mohd Naseem, Mukhlis  Qureshi, all CDPOs and ZEOs who are members of inspection teams attended the meeting.
