7 injured in road accidents in Rajouri

Seven people sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Rajouri district on Saturday, police said.

They said that a motorcycle, JK11A 8965, en route to Rajouri from Darhal plunged into a gorge near the shrine of SainGanji Sahib. “As a result, Mohammad Riaz, son of Alam Din, and his two children, 7-year-old Mohsin and 10-year-old Aifa, sustained injuries,” they said. The injured were shifted to Rajouri hospital, from where the doctors referred them to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.

At Chingus, police said, a Police Gypsy, JK02BA 4493, collided with a Truck, PB06E 2775, on the highway. Three people on board the Gypsy sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized, they said. Meanwhile, a Truck, JK08A 7568, collided with a motorcycle at Kallar area on the Jammu-Poonch highway, police said. They said that in the collision, the motorcyclist, who had not been identified, was injured. He was then shifted to Rajouri hospital, where he was undergoing treatment when last reports poured in. Police have taken cognizance of the three accidents.
