After 6 days of lull, guns roar on LoC in Nowshera

India and Pakistan armies on Monday morning exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district after a lull of six days.

Firing which started with small arms and graduated to heavymortar shelling continued for over two hours during which entire area andseveral villages including Deeing, Kalal were rattled.

   

Officials from Nowshera sub division said there were noreports of any loss of life, injury or loss of property due to firing.

Meanwhile, Jammu based spokesman of army, Lt Col DevinderAnand said Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling alongLoC in Nowshera Sector.

“Indian Army retaliated beffitingly,” the spokesman said.
