After 6 days of lull, guns roar on LoC in Nowshera

India and Pakistan armies on Monday morning exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district after a lull of six days.

Firing which started with small arms and graduated to heavy mortar shelling continued for over two hours during which entire area and several villages including Deeing, Kalal were rattled.

Officials from Nowshera sub division said there were no reports of any loss of life, injury or loss of property due to firing.

Meanwhile, Jammu based spokesman of army, Lt Col Devinder Anand said Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling along LoC in Nowshera Sector.

“Indian Army retaliated beffitingly,“ the spokesman said.
