An Army soldier was injured on Monday in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.
During patrolling of the borderline, a mine exploded in Mendhar sector, resulting in injuries to the soldier of JAKLI unit, they said.
“Around 12.50 an army person accidently got injured after he stepped onto a mine at forward area of LOC Keri Lalyali of sector Khour- Akhnoor,” police sources said.
They further added that injured person was evacuated to Military Hospital Udhampur.
The injured soldier has been identified as Rifleman Shankar Singh.
