An army jawan was killed and another was injured in heavy exchange of firing along Line of Control in Poonch sector on Monday evening.
Firing started at about 3pm at Shahpur, Kirni and the othernearby areas.
Sources said that Pakistan army started unprovoked firingwhich drew strong retaliation from Indian army.
In the exchange, two army jawans were injured when a mortarshell exploded near them. Both were shifted to local medical aid center whereone succumbed to injuries while another is undergoing treatment.
Exchange of fire on LoC continued for over four hours.
