People living in far flung Bai Nambal panchayat of Rajouri’s Khawas Zone have urged government to change the jurisdiction of their community development (CD) block from existing Khawas to Budhal block.
The villagers said that they have made several appeals to government to get the jurisdiction of their CD block changed but all their requests fell on “deaf ears” till date.
According to the Sarpanch of the area, Mohammad Iqbal, there are 350 families comprising of around 2600 souls in the Panchayat spread over Bai Numbal and Chakli Gandyog villages.
Listing out the problems being faced by the villagers, he said that construction of the Panchayat Ghar in the area was taken up in the year 2012 but it has not completed yet.
“Hardly twenty to thirty households of the area have access to water supply from various water supply schemes of Public Health Engineering Department while rest of the families still rely on the natural sources of the water ,” he said.
About condition of roads in the panchayat, he said that work on PMGSY road from Dharmsal Badhal to Bhai Numbal began in 2012 but after completion of earth work and mettaling upto 2 kilometers area, it was stopped.
“We appeal the state government and district administration in particular to constitute a special team for close examination of developmental projects of the area to ensure expeditious completion of all projects,” the Sarpanch of the area said.
