‘BSF men forced us to vote for BJP’

Border Security Force men and locals exchanged blows in Arai Malkan, Poonch Mandi, on Thursday after residents alleged that they were pressurised to vote for BJP.

Civil authorities and police officers reached on the spotand pacified the situation.

   

“Authorities should probe the matter as security forcesshould remain neutral,” said sarpanch Mohammad Aslam Malik.

A BSF officer denied the charge.

Meanwhile, faulty EVMs triggered protests in Poonch.

As per reports, in Shahpur village Congress button on theEVMs remained defunct. The locals alleged that tampered EVMs have been sent tothe area with an aim to favour a particular party.

Later, similar issue came to fore from another pollingstation where BJP button remained defunct.

Officials said that both the EVMs with defunct buttons werereplaced with reserve EVMs soon after the matter came to their knowledge.
