CMO ‘manhandled’, DH Reasi staff holds protest

Patients under treatment at district hospital faced difficulties on Monday as doctors and paramedical staff posted at the hospital suspended work for several hours, after the Chief Medical Officer was allegedly manhandled by some locals and attendants of victims of Siar Baba waterfall incident.

As per the staff, “Relatives of the people injured at Siar Baba waterfall lodged a protest and manhandled the CMO. Scared for his life, the CMO had to flee from the spot.” The staff demanded that the “culprits should be immediately arrested and dealt with strict action under law.”

Later, administrative officials visited the hospital and assured that strict action will be taken against the men found guilty. An FIR was also registered at Reasi Police Station. After being assured by the officials, the doctors and other staff resumed their work.
