The residents of Balakote Wednesday demanded immediate construction of safety bunkers in all the education institutions of the area which fall under shelling zone.
The irked residents, including youth leader Zaheer Khan, said, “A number of schools in Balakote are located in shelling zone. Several times the students remained stuck in these schools during cross-border shelling.”
The locals urged upon the governor’s administration to immediately order the construction of bunkers in the schools, in order to save the lives of children during shelling.
They demanded that the officers of district administration should visit the area and personally devise a proposal for construction of bunkers.
