A policeman was injured as Indian and Pakistani armies exchanged heavy gunfire in Poonch areas along the Line of Control on Friday evening, officials said.
An official said that heavy cross-border firing started inQasba and Kirni areas of Poonch at around 5.30pm and was going on when lastreports came in.
An official source said a special police officer SayeedShah, who was posted with army for LoC gate frisking duty, got injured in thecross-border firing and shelling.
Senior superintendent ofpolice, Poonch, Ramesh Angral, said the injured SPO was evacuated to ahospital.
