Dilapidated market road irks Mahore residents

The residents of Mahore are irked over dilapidated market road and claimed that they are suffering due to official apathy.

The residents, while talking to Greater Kashmir, said, “Since Independence, the main market road has been lying dilapidated and the concerned authorities seem least bothered.”

They said that during elections, successive leaders have promised to develop the area, but “after winning, no one delivered”.

“One can gauge the state of the rural areas by looking at the main market road in the headquarter of the sub-division. If the condition is so bad here, one can only imagine what the people of far-off places are going through,” they said.

Students and local transporters, while enlisting their problems, said, “It is almost impossible to drive on the road as the vehicles suffer serious damages due to the state of the road. During, rains, pot holes and mud patches cause the issue, while in summers, dust flies, making it hard to breathe.”

The locals further said that time and again, they staged demonstrations and also asked the authorities to repair the road, but nothing has been done yet.

They appealed to the governor’s administration to look into their issue and redress their grievance.
