EO suspended, BDO attached, salary of 30 others withheld in Rajouri

The local District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Friday ordered an Executive Officer to be suspended, a Block Development Officer to be attached and salaries of 30 officials of health department to be withheld. Besides, explanations have been served to CMO, BMO Nowshera, Sunderbani, Darhal, Kalakote and Manjakote for their “failure to instil discipline and punctuality of officials in health institutions working under their control.”

The EO Municipality Sunderbani was suspended in the backdrop of his absence from a meeting held under chairmanship of the DDC to review arrangements for successful completion of Budha Amarnath Yatra, inspite of explicit directions from district administration for not leaving station without prior permission. “However, the said officer was out of station without any intimation to administration and failed to attend the Yatra meeting,” an officer said.

The DDC also ordered attachment of BDO Darhal in view of various complaints received during public meeting held at Darhal on Thursday regarding payments under MGNREGA. “Pertinently, the Block Development Officer skipped a meeting, wherein achievements of RDD were reviewed by the DDC,” the officer further said.

The salaries of 30 employees of health department posted in PHCs and health sub-centres, which were found locked during surprised inspections by the administration on July 10 and July 18, were also withheld as part of stringent actions to discourage absenteeism in government institutions. Additional Deputy Commissioner has been appointed as the inquiry officer and explanations have been called from all the employees.
