Exam superintendent, his deputy suspended over allegation of mass copying in Reasi

Directorate Education Jammu has suspended the superintendentof an examination centre and his deputy over allegations of mass copying inMahore area of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pending enquiry into the conduct in terms of Jammu andKashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, MasterSharief-Ud-Din (Superintendent) and teacher Ashiq Ahmad (Deputy Superintendent)of 10th Exam center No. 5903 High School Jamslan, Zone Mahore are hereby placedunder suspension with immediate effect,” reads an order issued by the DSEJ,Anuradha Gupta.

   

“During the period of suspension, they shall remain attachedwith Chief Education Office Reasi,” the order reads.

The order followed surfacing of a video and photographs,showing mass copying by students of 10th class in Bi-annual Science paper whichwas held on May 11 in the examination centre, a local news gathering newsagency reported.

In the video, the youth in scattered groups are seen helpingthe examinees with the chits from outside the examination centre.

Locals also approached the CEO with a written complaintagainst the staff including Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent forallowing mass copying, GNS said.

They alleged that the staff was allowing the mass copyingevery year against hefty bribes.

The video and pictures in possession with GNS showed thestaff on exam duty supplying examination related material to nearly 30candidates.

The locals had urged Governor-led administration to lookinto the matter and take strict action against the staff involved in the masscopying practice.
