A fire broke out on Wednesday morning in the forest area at Baba Khori and Bhawani in Nowshera, Rajouri. The fire spread fast, as the forest which falls near to LoC was dry due to absence of rains for some time.
“Several acres of forest area are under fire. There has been loss to the green gold,” sources said.
The teams of forest department and locals were working to douse the flames.
Meanwhile, incidents of forest fire have also been reported from some other parts of the district including Badhoon and Jamola in Rajouri.
