Former legislator Naz laid to rest

Hundreds of people on Monday attended the last rites of former legislator and former Vice-Chairman of Gujjar and Bakerwal State Advisory Board, Bashir Ahmed Naz, who passed away after a brief spell of illness in Jammu on Sunday. 

He was laid to rest at his native village Loran Danna atPoonch Mandi. Before his last rites were performed, a Namaz-e-Janaza wasoffered at Markazi Eidgah Poonch in which a large number of people took part.

   

The deceased had contested Assembly elections in 1987 as anindependent candidate and won the Haveli seat. In 2002 he was nominated as theMember of State Legislative Council. In 2008 he was appointed as Vice-Chairmanof the Gujjar and Bakerwal State Advisory Board in 2008.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik,National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, party vice-president OmarAbdullah, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, NC general secretary, HajiAli Muhammad Sagar, Muhammad Akbar Lone, Mian Altaf, Nasir Aslam Wani, DevenderSingh Rana, Ajaz Jan have extended condolences to the grief stricken family andhave prayed for peace to the departed soul.
