GMS Leeran found closed during inspection

Five teachers and a clerical officer of the Education department were suspended on Wednesday, for alleged dereliction of duties, here in Darhal zone.

Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, Mohammad Ashraf Rather,initiated the action after he visited several government schools as well as theoffice of Zonal Education Officer, Darhal.

   

An order issued from the Chief Education Officer, a copy ofwhich is with Greater Kashmir, mentioned that Government Middle School Leeranwas found closed when a team led by the CEO inspected the school in morninghours on Tuesday.

The entire staff posted in the school, including masterNazir Hussain and teachers Parveen Akhter, Munshi Khan, Khalid Mehmood andMohammad Ashraf, have been suspended, the order read.

The suspended officials have also been shifted from theschool to other schools, while new officials have been deployed in GMS Leeran.

Similarly, during inspection of Zonal Education Office,Darhal, it was found that the leave updation of officials has not beenimplemented in letter and spirit. “The record of the office was neithermentioned properly nor produced before the Chief Education Officer. Besides,one of the female teachers of High School Leeran, identified as Mahreen Kouser,was on maternity leave since joining the institution, but leaves had not beenentered in her service record,” the order states.

It further adds that the concerned senior assistant madesome entries in the service record, and that too just before the ChiefEducation Officer visited the office.

Taking note, the order reads, Senior Assistant, ShabirAhmed, has been placed under suspension and the Zonal Education Officer hasbeen asked to shift the charge from the official immediately.
