Guranak residents decry water crisis

The residents of Guranak village of Poonch’s Mandi tehsil are decrying water crisis in their village due to closure of a water supply scheme.

The locals of the area, including Sarpanch Aijaz Ahmed Tantray, told Greater Kashmir: “Water supply scheme for our village area has been lying completely closed since the past three months. Due to this, people are striving hard for every drop of water.”

They further said that water crisis in the holy month of Ramadan is a major problem and people are suffering.

“The locals have to walk for over three kilometres to fetch water from natural sources,” they said, while demanding the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to intervene and solve the issue.
