High School Jamlan awaits up-gradation

The High School Jamlan awaits up-gradation with the locals aghast at successive government for “ignoring the school and the area”.

Established in 1953 as a primary school, the present HighSchool Jamlan, was upgraded in 1956 to central school (upto class 7) level. In1962, the school was again upgraded to the high school level.

The locals said, “Till around two decades ago, the HS Jamlanwas the only high school in the entire Gulabgarh constituency, catering tostudents of Arnas, Chinkah and Gulabgarh. Then, the government established ahigh school in Arnas and also upgraded it to higher secondary level, while HSJamlan continued to be ignored.”

The locals claimed, “After several protests and agitations,a number of schools in the district were upgraded, but yet again, HS Jamlancontinued to be ignored.”

The locals alleged, “Though the HS Jamlan has deserved to beupgraded, but successive governments have ignored it. It is sheer injusticewith us and we demand that it should be upgraded at an earliest.”

They appealed to the governor administration to look into the issue and upgrade the school at an earliest.
