The armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Poonch district, an official said.

He said, “At about 6 pm on Tuesday, Pakistani army resorted to small arms firing and targeted several forward posts of the Indian army at Degwar. Later, they (Pakistani army) also fired on Indian posts in Kirni.”

The army also retaliated effectively, he said, adding that cross-border firing lasted for an hour.

There were no reports of any loss of life or injury in the firing, till last reports poured in.
