India-Pakistan troops trade fire along LoC

Armies of India and Pakistan on Wednesday resorted to heavy firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector here, an official said.

The official said at around 7:30 pm, Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC in Baba Khori, Kalal and Kalsian areas of Nowshera sector. He said both small arms as well as mortar shells were used by Pakistan army to target the forward post on this side of the LoC.

   

“Our army retaliated to unprovoked firing by Pakistan army, resulting in exchange of the fire between both the sides,” the official said.

Jammu-based spokesman of army, Lt Col Devander Anand said that Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling. “Our army is giving a befitting reply,” he said. The firing and shelling was going on when last reports were received.
