Indo-Pak troops trade fire

The armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy gunfire along the Line of Control in Poonch sector on Saturday.

Firing, as per reports, started at about 5:30 pm in Shahpur, Kirni and other areas along the LoC in Poonch sector. “Small arms as well as mortars were fired during the exchange,” reports added.

The cross border firing and shelling continued for over an hour, after which an uneasy calm continues to prevail in the area.

No loss of life or injury was reported in the exchange.
