Iqbal Malik quits Congress

In a major setback to the Congress in Rajouri district, senior leader and executive member of Pardesh Congress Committee, Mohammad Iqbal Malik, Sunday resigned from the basic membership of the party.

Malik, who is a retired bureaucrat, has previously contestedassembly polls from Darhal assembly segment twice on the Congress’ mandate.

   

In his resignation letter, a copy of which is with GreaterKashmir, Malik states, “The party leadership has gone into coma. Nobody is hereto hear our grievances.”

On being contacted, he told Greater Kashmir that even afterserving in the party for so long, there “seems to be no one to listen to ourgrievances and talk about future policies”.

“We have been serving people on the ground while our party’sleadership is in coma,” he said.
