Jammu and Kashmir: Army man killed as India, Pak trade fire along LoC in Rajouri

An army man was killed on Friday after the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 1330 hours in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LoC),” said an official. “Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively,” he said. 

   

In the exchange of fire, Lance Naik Sam Abraham was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries.

“Lance Naik Sam Abraham, aged 34 belonged to Village Poonakam, District Allepey, Kerala and is survived by his wife Smt Anu Mathew and daughter aged 1 year and 10 months.”
