Army’s bomb disposal squad on Tuesday destroyed a live explosive shell in Chowki Handan village of Nowshera area here.
A police official said late on Monday evening people from the village spotted a suspicious thing lying in the field after which police and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot.
“On Tuesday morning, the shell was destroyed through a controlled explosion by the squad.” said the official.
He said the entire village got rattled with powerful explosion that took place when the shell was destroyed.
An official said ceasefire violation along the Line of Control took place on Sunday evening and it is believed that the shell was fired from other side.
