Lok Sabha polls: 80 polling booths categorised as hyper-sensitive in Poonch

Eighty polling booths in Poonch district have been categorised as hyper-sensitive by the election authorities, keeping in view apprehensions of law and order problems as well as the past history.

Officials told Greater Kashmir that a total of 451 pollingstations will be set up across the Poonch district for voting in theparliamentary elections, which will be held under the first phase on April 11.Out of these, 80 have been categorised as hyper-sensitive, where extradeployment of forces will be put in place.

   

Senior superintendent of police, Ramesh Angral, said thattight security arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct ofpolls across the district. He added that all the security agencies are workingin a closely coordinated manner for the highest-level of alertness.
