The Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday claimed to have solved a theft case within two hours by arresting the accused and recovering the stolen money, here in Reasi district.
A police officer said, “One Sanjay Kumar lodged a complaintat Reasi police station, wherein he stated that unidentified persons broke openthe locks of his shop located at Trintha and stole over Rs 1 lakh.”
The police registered an FIR and started an investigation.
“A team led by Wasim Hamdani, deputy superintendent ofpolice, headquarters, and station hosue officer, Reasi, Ashwani Sharma, roundedup a suspect, identified as Sudarshan Singh @Vishal,” the officer said.
During questioning, the officer said, the suspect confessedto his crime. “On his disclosure, the stolen money, amounting to Rs 1,00,500,was recovered,” he said.
