The Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a man and recovered 520-gram cannabis from his possession.
A police officer said, “Kesar Ram, a resident of Bhaga village, was noticed moving suspiciously in Saldi village by a police patrolling party and was stopped for checking.”
He said that 520 grams of cannabis (charas) was recovered from the accused, while adding that Ram is a notorious drug peddler.
A case under the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) act was registered against the accused and investigation is underway, the officer said.
