A minor girl was knocked to death by a fast moving passenger vehicle on Rajouri highway, police said today.
The incident took place Sunday evening at Dandesar village on Jammu – Rajouri highway.
Reports said an eight-year-old Noreen, a resident of Dandesar was moving along the highway when a fast moving tempo traveler hit her.
The driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot along with the vehicle.
The injured girl was shifted to Nowshera Hospital from where she was referred to GMC Jammu but she succumbed on way to Jammu, a police official said.
He said that after legal formalities the body was handed over to family for last rites while attempts were being made to identify the vehicle and nab the accused driver.
