In a blatant violation of norms, an NGO has been found ‘interfering’ in the working of Anganwadi Centers, whereby the chairman of the organization ‘arbitrarily’ conducts inspection in the centers and records the same in an attendance register.

As per report, the chairperson of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), JKCADS has been conducting inspection in the Anganwadi Centers, without any authority. Following this interference, the concerned department has instructed its field staff to desist NGO chairperson from doing so.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, a senior official of concerned department, wishing anonymity revealed that the Social Welfare Department and office of CDPO in Rajouri district had received a complaint that an NGO has been indulged in the arbitrary inspection of the Anganwadi centers.

“The Chairman is not only conducting inspection in different centers of Thanamandi, but is also recording same report in the attendance registers, which is against the official secrecy,” said an official.

When contacted PO Rajouri, who happens to be in-charge of Thanamandi area, he said that after receiving complaint, the department has issued instructions to its field staff to desist the chairperson from recording the inspection in the attendance register.
