‘Overflowing drains’ irk Mendhar residents

The residents of Mendhar are irked over “overflowing drains” in the main market area.

The locals, including Balram Sharma, Sanjay Sasan andMohammad Ibrahim, among others, said, “A drain had been constructed in the maintown, through which sewage water was flowing since the past several decades.Now, the flow of water had been diverted by the concerned authorities,resulting in overflow.”

   

They added, “Due to the diversion, the unhygienic drain hasoverflowed and the road heading towards Mendhar police station, sub-divisionalmagistrate’s office and local court complex, is submerged. This has causedserious concern among the hundreds of people who commute on the road every day.Besides, the murky water is also entering business establishments.”

The locals urged upon the district administration to lookinto the issue and redress their grievance.
