PaK man detained in Poonch village near LoC

A man hailing from Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) was on Wednesday detained after he intruded the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of this district.

A police official said some people from Panjni nallah area near the LoC were grazing their cattle when they saw a man approaching them.

   

“The man turned out to be a PaK resident. Locals informed police after which a team from Balakote police post rushed to the spot and detained the person. He has been shifted to a local police station.” The official said.

He said the police have started investigation to ascertain how the man crossed over the LoC.

“He was not in possession of any document or any other material.” the official said.

The man, the official said, identified himself as Abdul Rehman, a resident of Semati village in PaK.

“We have detained the said person and started the investigation,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Ramesh K Angral.
