PaK resident’s body exhumed in Rajouri after seven months

Authorities on Tuesday exhumed the body of a Pakistan-administered-Kashmir (PaK) resident who was buried in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district following the recovery of his body seven months ago near the Line of control.

Mohammad Arshad, a resident of Kotli Gujaran in PaK, who was found dead in Jhanger forward area on 23 July 2018, was buried at a graveyard in Mohra Kampala village of Rajouri.

   

Initially, his identity was not known, but recently the Pakistan army requested the Indian authorities in Rajouri to hand over the body to his family members.

Following the communication from Pakistan, the district magistrate Rajouri issued an order asking police to exhume the body and hand it over to the army so that it can be handed over to Pakistan army.
