PANCHAYAT POLLS: 2 sarpanches, 80 panches elected unopposed in today’s voting areas

Two sarpanches and eighty panches have been elected unopposed in the four blocks of Rajouri and Poonch districts, where voting under the second phase will be held on Tuesday.

As per details provided by election authorities, a sarpanch and 21 panches stand elected unopposed in the Lamberi and Siot blocks of Rajouri district. Similarly, in Loran and Mandi blocks of Poonch district, a sarpanch and 59 panches have already been elected unopposed.

   

Teacher suspended for use of unparliamentary language

Poonch: Authorities on Monday placed a government teacher under suspension for using unparliamentary language against the voters during the voting under first phase on Saturday and for also indulging in political campaigning.

The suspension order, against a teacher posted in Middle School Lower Lassana, was issued by the deputy commissioner Poonch on Monday.

In the order, it was mentioned that a complaint was lodged before the administration against the teacher, wherein it was stated that he is indulged in political campaigning and used unparliamentary language.

“The teacher is placed under suspension and the chief education officer will submit a detailed report within a week,” the order further mentioned.
