The government employees working in Poonch district will not be able to withdraw their salary for the month of January until they submit bill clearance certificates from the public health engineering and power development departments, an order issued from the Poonch civil administration stated.
An official of district administration said, “This is an initiative to generate revenue for power development department as well as the public health engineering department.”
The district development commissioner, Rahul Yadav issued the order, directing all drawing and disbursing officers of the district to draw the salary of the month January, 2019 of the employees, only after producing a no-objection certificate or proper receipt of water tax and electricity charges.
“It is a fact that a number of people do not pay their bills. The people also include government employees. The order will help in ensuring that all the government employees are regular bill payers,” the official said.
