Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday fired several tear gas shells to disperse some “anti-social elements”, who were indulging in arson at Alla Peer locality near Poonch town.
Eye witnesses said, “Amid Friday’s bandh a confrontation erupted between two groups at Alla Peer. Some of the youth damaged 2-3 cars and resorted to pelting stones. As the area was engulfed in panic and chaos, police team fired several tear gas shells to disperse the mob.”
After the incident, a heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces was made in the area.
