POONCH ACCIDENT: Police register FIR for ‘ill-planned’ digging near accident site

The case has been registered after a bus met with an accident on the road on Saturday morning leaving 13 killed and 15 injured.

Poonch police here have registered a case in “ill planned” digging for laying optical fibre cable on Mandi - Loran road in the district.

The case has been registered after a bus met with  an accident on the road on Saturday morning leaving 13 killed and 15 injured.

Officiating superintendent of police, Poonch, Raja Adil Hamid told Greater Kashmir that the FIR has been registered against mobile cable laying agency.

"FIR 104/18 under section 336 RPC has been registered in Mandi police station," the officer said.

He said the case has been registered for ill-planned digging along the side of road near accident site for laying OFC cable.

Further investigation of the case is going on, the officer said.

Pertinent to mention that a bus moving from Loran to Mandi plunged in a gorge at Palera village in which 13 people died while 15 others were injured on Saturday.

Locals of the area alleged that the ill-planned roadside digging for laying cable was the reason for this tragic accident.
