Protests held across Rajouri, Poonch

Protests were staged in several areas of Rajouri and Poonch on Monday against the Pulwama blast, wherein a suicide attacker rammed his car into a CRPF convoy in Lethpora on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

In Palma village area of Rajouri, people shut their business establishments and blocked the main road. They raised slogans against Pakistan and militant organizations, besides paying tributes to the slain CRPF personnel.

   

The protesters appealed the government to take a tough stand and ensure that such attacks are prevented in the future.

The people from Jawahar Nagar locality of Rajouri town also took out a protest rally and a candle march in the main market on Monday evening. They paid tributes to CRPF soldiers in the convoy attack as well as army and police personnel killed in Monday’s encounter in Pulwama.

The protesters assembled in front of Jammu and Kashmir bank and then marched through the main town holding candles in hands. 

Similarly, traders in Surankote of Poonch closed their business establishments and staged a protest rally and paid tributes to the slain CRPF personnel killed in Lethpora.
