Release poll duty salaries, demand govt employees

The state government employees Friday staged a demonstrationagainst the government and demanded the additional one month salary, which waspromised to them for poll duty, to be released soon.

The irked employees had been called for an election-relatedtraining in Mendhar, but before the training commenced the employees said thatthey will not attend the training and will boycott poll duties.

   

“At the time of panchayat elections, the governmentannounced an additional one month salary to all the employees engaged inelection duties, but the salaries have not been released yet,” they said.

Later, sub-divisional magistrate, Mendhar, Sahil Jandyal,met the employees and assured them that their grievances will be communicatedto higher authorities. On this assurance, the protest was called off and thetraining commenced.
