Sans street lights, DDC Rajouri uses mobile torch to inspect old town

In the absence of street lights in most of the areas of Rajouri old town, the district development commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, was forced to use his mobile as a torch while inspecting the old town market in the night hours.

The DDC, accompanied by tehsildar Rajouri, executive officer of municipal committee Rajouri and other officials, visited at old bus stand to conduct a surprise inspection of the main market.

   

However, the visit started at the time of scheduled power curtailment and the main market was engulfed in darkness due to the absence of street lights, making it difficult for the team to move around. The DDC was seen holding his mobile torch and using the flash light as a torch while moving around the market.

While talking to media persons, the DDC said that the visit was aimed to finalize the sites where new street lights need to be installed. He directed the concerned officers to install street lights at the finalized spots and also to repair all the defunct lights at an earliest.
