Pir Panchal region continued to receive rain and snowfall for second consecutive day on Tuesday which led a temperature dipping down further. 

As per reports from twin districts, moderate rainfall was received in all parts of the district for second day consecutively with rainfall continued for more than five hours in the day.

"Higher reaches in both the districts received fresh snowfall today also and in some areas, level of snow crossed one feet and entire higher Pir Panchal range is covered under white blanket " reports revealed.  

Due to inclement weather conditions, cold wave intensified forcing people to stay indoors. Officials informed that Mughal Road also remained closed for second consecutive today. "We have cleared snow upto army check point Poshana but there is no chance of road clearance from their onwards as weather is inclement, " an engineer of concerned department said.  

He added that through snow clearance machinery, snow from road stretch has been cleared upto army post but only permitted vehicle are allowed to move as there are severe slippery conditions on the road.

Meanwhile, there is no report of any major loss of life or property so far except some incidents of partial collapse of some sheds.
