Villagers brave LoC odds to pay obeisance, pray for peace between both sides

Tarkundi Gali shrine a centre of religious belief

Located in the eye range of Pakistani forces and on the direct target of their guns, Tarkundi Gali shrine of Pir Allah Ditta Shah is a living example of religious belief of people who pay obeisance on this shrine braving all odds, hurdles and risks prevailing in high security Line of Control area with army also taking complete care of shrine. 

Shrine, which is Mazaar of a noted religious personality, Pir Allah Ditta Shah is located at Tarkundi Gali which is the last ridge with India and from where the area of PaK starts.

Shrine is having road connectivity only through a LoC road of army which starts from Bhimber Gali and after passing through Tarkundi Gali, reaches at Lam Nowshera via  Keri Top.

Shrine, is one of the pious centre of religious belief in the entire border area from BG to Gambhir and Nambla with people having religious aspirations attached with it. 

This shrine on the name of Pir Allah Ditta Shah has been in existence since hundreds of years and the exact date of demise of Pir Allah Ditta Shah is also not known. 

"The Pir widely revered and has a wide standing among the locals of the area " a board installed near shrine mentions. 

The said shrine is completely maintained and taken care by army soldiers deployed in Tarkundi for LoC duty.

"Our soldiers are deployed here on LoC duty and manning forward posts with tight vigil as this entire LoC area is quite sensitive due to infiltration attempts as well as frequent incidents of cross border firing " said an army official.  

"Its a high security zone with LoC located at very short distance but shrine is open for all and anyone can pay obeisance.  We treat the devotees reaching here as our guests," the official added. 

The official said special prayers are offered on Thursday and even meal (Prasad) is served among the devotees reaching here from far off areas.

Locals presented a unique picture of the shrine. "Although it's a high security zone but army never prohibits movement of devotees here and Indeed, take their full care "  locals said.

Numberdar Peryali village, Nisar Khan, taking to Greater Kashmir said that shrine is one of the pious one and thousands of people living in this are attached with it.

"As it's LoC area, no passenger vehicle moves here and devotees reach here either by their personal vehicles or  walking by foot for several  kilometres together under the shadow of LoC" he added. 

"On this shrine located on Indo - Pak LoC, we pray for peace on borders and between both the sides so that no more human lives are lost " several others locals said.
