Two girls injured as India, Pakistan trade fire along LoC in Poonch

Two girls were injured after the armies of India and Pakistan shelled each other’s positions and civilian areas in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Reports said two girls, identified as Shabina Akhtar,daughter of Mumtaz Ahmad and Tasveer Begum, daughter of Abdul Rasheed, wereinjured in cross-LoC firing in Chapprian village in Saujiyan area of thedistrict.

   

The injured girls were shifted to district hospital Poonchfor treatment.

Earlier, an army official said that Pakistan army initiated”unprovoked” ceasefire violation along the LoC in Saujiyan sector at 8:30 am.

He said the Indian army was retaliating to the firing whichwas going on at the time of filing of this report.
