Upgraded 5 months ago, HSS Panjgrian awaits staff posting

Five months have passed since the Higher Secondary SchoolNiaka Panjgrian in Tarkundi Gambhir village along the LoC was upgraded, theinhabitants of the area claimed that the school is still awaiting the postingof Principal, some subject specific lecturers and other staff required to runthe affairs.

They warned that in case Education Department and DistrictAdministration fail to post the required staff in the school, they will launcha “coercive agitation” in the days to come and for all the repercussions, onlygovernment will be held responsible.

   

Sarpanch of the area, Abdul Hussain and other Civil Societymembers including Naib Sarpanch Mohammad Younis, Zamurd Khan, Mahroof Khan,Zakir Hussain, Mohammad Bashir and others said that the school was upgraded inthe month of March this year and first batch of 11th class comprising 22students was also started.

“But till date, even the post of Principal, some posts ofsubject-specific teachers and other staff have not been fulfilled ,” they said.

“Under such circumstances, the future of our children is atstake,” they added.

According to villagers, four months of this session havepassed and only six months are left for the examination of 11th class students.

“And if the required staff strength is not fulfilled in thismonth, the result of our wards will be affected. But it seems the EducationDepartment has turned a deaf ear towards the pleas of the villagers,” Sarpanchof the area, Abdul Hussain said, adding, “We’d brought this matter to thenotice of CEO Rajouri. He’d assured that he would discuss about our issues withhigher authorities, but till date, we haven’t heard from the CEO office.”

When contacted, DC Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, said,”Recently a delegation of the area met me and discussed their issuesthreadbare. I have issued directions to CEO office Rajouri to submit a reportso that some internal arrangement can be made to ensure that students don’tsuffer.”

Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta said thatthe department will post the staff in the school soon.
